Halloween 2026 Hong Kong: 7 Family Events & Tickets Guide

Hong Kong goes hard on Halloween. The 2026 programme is the busiest I have mapped in three years: a free 15-night installation trail in Central, a Jackson Wang-themed haunted castle at Ocean Park, a Villains Takeover at Hong Kong Disneyland, a brand-new European-style night market at Discovery Bay, and a glow-in-the-dark LEGO brick-or-treat under one roof. Peak weekends — 24 Oct, 31 Oct, 1 Nov — book out fast, and several headline events now require reservations. Here is what is worth committing to now, sorted by how early you need to act.

Short version: do Halloween in Central on Sat 24 Oct for the family Monster Mash Fest, pair it with a daytime Disney or LEGOLAND visit, save the late-night cosplay finale on 31 Oct for older kids, and book Ocean Park’s daytime Bulu Boo Trick-or-Treat if you have a mixed-age crew.

1. Halloween in Central — Statue Square + Chater Road

Hongkong Land, with the HKTB, turns Central into a 15-night Halloween playground from Sat 17 Oct to Sat 31 Oct 2026. The four headline installations at Statue Square Gardens (South) are free with no reservation — just turn up. They light up nightly from 4pm to 11:30pm (until 1am on 31 Oct), so a costume walk-through before dinner genuinely works with toddlers.

Four pieces to hunt: I Am Watching You (a giant eyeball over the fountain), The Awakening (a monumental gateway), the photo-ready Coffin Throne, and The Jail (a haunted reimagining of the colonial-era pavilion). Chater Road is pedestrianised on event days, which is half the fun for strollers.

Practical Info

Address Statue Square Gardens (South) and Chater Road, Central
MTR Central Station, Exit K — flat walk to the square; Chater Rd 3 min north
Hours Installations 4pm–11:30pm nightly; until 1am on 31 Oct
Cost Free installations; bouncy castle and F&B paid
Best For Toddlers through tweens; pick 24 Oct for the family day

Which Chater Road day should you pick?

Four themed days fall on 17, 18, 24 and 31 Oct:

  • Sat 17 Oct — Boo-st Your Mood Pickleball Day. Walk-in sign-up with Pick & Match on closed Chater Road. The sleeper hit for sporty kids. Free to watch.
  • Sun 18 Oct, 3–10pm — OPEN by HE.R Kick-Off Party. Open-air sound system party. Needs advance booking via Ticketflap. Bring ear protection if you have a toddler.
  • Sat 24 Oct — Monster Mash Fest Family Day. The one to circle. Costumes, face painting, henna, themed bouncy castle (timed slots, small fee), performances, and sweets. No scare mazes.
  • Sat 31 Oct — Halloween Night Unleashed. Cosplay finale, late-night installations, roving characters, runs to 1am. Skip with toddlers; great for 8+.

Tip: on 17, 24 and 31 Oct, costumed guests ride Citybus’s Halloween open-top route and dressed-up Ding Ding trams free. Genuinely useful for getting from Statue Square back to Sheung Wan or Sai Ying Pun with a sleeping child.

2. Hong Kong Disneyland — Disney Halloween Time 2026 (Party Like a Villain)

Disney Halloween Time runs 18 Sep – 1 Nov 2026, included with regular park admission. The 2026 theme is Party Like a Villain, with Maleficent leading an expanded Uninvited! Villains Takeover Party down Main Street. Hades, Captain Hook, the Queen of Hearts, Jafar, Gaston, Lady Tremaine and Oogie Boogie all show up. Mickey and Friends debut a Spooky Rock Band look; Duffy’s Play House gets fresh costumes. For smaller kids there is Mickey’s Happy Halloween Adventure with a mini fashion parade, plus daylight trick-or-treat — no scare mazes anywhere. Let’s Get Wicked at Theater in the Wild runs Premier Access from HK$99.

Practical Info

Address Hong Kong Disneyland, Magic Road, Lantau Island
MTR Tung Chung Line to Sunny Bay, then Disneyland Resort Line; or taxi from Tung Chung
Hours Vary by date — check the official site
Ticket 1-Day from HK$769; Non-stop 2-Day Fun Ticket adds 2nd day for HK$100 (on sale through Dec 31, 2026)
Reservation Advance ticket + park reservation both required
Best For Ages 3–10; families wanting zero scares and full character access

Heads-up: the “Friendtastic!” parade pauses 17–24 Sep and 13 Oct – 1 Nov, so check the calendar first if your kids live for that parade. Jack Skellington’s The Nightmare Before Dinner at River View Cafe also requires a 2-adult-minimum package — book it as a planned treat, not a fallback.

3. Ocean Park Halloween Fest 2026 — Daytime Bulu Boo for Kids

Ocean Park’s Halloween Fest runs 5 Sep – 1 Nov 2026, with night experiences from 9 October on selected dates. The 2026 theme is The Grave Rave; the headline new attraction is Under the Castle, a collaboration with Jackson Wang. It is genuinely scary, and the park has built the season for two audiences: parents and kids during the day, thrill-seekers after dark. Crucially, children under five cannot enter the four headline haunted houses (Under the Castle, Voodoo Boo Terror Park, Troublesome Night 8, Forbidden Asylum). The family-relevant daytime events are JHC Presents: Bulu Boo Trick-or-Treat Party, the Trick or Roll Game, the Horror-thrill Ocean Express train, and Gala of Lights: Let in the Dark at the Aqua City Lagoon. Doable with a 3-year-old and a 9-year-old together.

Hours Daytime Halloween events 10am–6pm most dates; check the official site for house nights

Best For Ages 3–12 during the day; 12+ for night haunts

Member-only play: Premium and Gold members can buy the Member Exclusive All-Access Ticket for 10 Oct 2026 at HK$100 (max 2 each, limited quota). Members also get 10% off both combos and 15% off annual membership renewal — relevant if you are weighing one Halloween day versus a year of free parking.

4. Spooky Chills @ Discovery Bay 2026 — Photo Trail, Pet Walk, Cosplay Parade

Spooky Chills runs 10 Oct – 1 Nov 2026 in Discovery Bay, Lantau. New format this year: instead of one big street party, there are two Sweet Dreams photo installations spread across the neighbourhood — a Dream Entrance at Discovery Bay Pier, and a 5-metre inflatable monster plus an under-the-bed candy zone at DB North Plaza (lit 5.30pm–11pm). It is a 15-minute walk between the two, which is the point: you actually explore DB rather than queue at one spot.

On 31 Oct, the inaugural DB Fun Day starts: complimentary bus and ferry in designated hours, a European-style night market from 2pm to 9pm (~60 stalls, roving magician), and Halloween Bark & Bounce at DB North (pet costume contest, Howl Pawfect Walk and Pawsome Party at Garden Toscana). The first-ever Cosplay Parade and Costume Contest runs 3pm–5pm starting at D’Deck, judged by World Cosplay Summit champs AR★Lu and Ronnie. Register by 15 October via the Spooky Chills registration link.

Practical Info

Address DB Plaza, 1 Discovery Bay Road, Discovery Bay, Lantau Island
Access Sun Ferry from Central (Pier 6, ~25 min) or DB Bus from MTR Sunny Bay (~15 min)
Hours Photo spots lit 5.30pm–11pm daily, 10 Oct – 1 Nov; market & parade 31 Oct 2pm–9pm
Cost Photo trail free; ferry paid unless DB Fun Day window; pet events free
Best For All ages on photo trail; tweens/teens for cosplay parade; dog families for Bark & Bounce

Discovery Bay is one of the few places where Halloween still feels like a Saturday-afternoon thing rather than a 10pm commitment — relevant if you have a dog or a tired toddler.

5. LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Hong Kong — Brick or Treat (Indoor Rain Backup)

Brick or Treat runs 1 Oct – 31 Oct 2026 at K11 MUSEA in Tsim Sha Tsui, included with admission. The only fully indoor option on the list, and the selling point when typhoon season collides with costume plans. The Minifigure Monsters have taken over the centre with real hands-on activities: a Haunted Creative Workshop with glow-in-the-dark bricks, a skeleton scavenger hunt in MINILAND that cracks a secret code for a mystery gift, a Monster Parade, a Pumpkin Patch cart, and a Halloween Mosaic Wall. The popular Great Monster Chase 4D movie returns for a second year. Vibe is “spooky but not scary” — appropriate for the building-focused 3–10 audience. Add the Snack Pleasures Halloween Package (themed donut + Qoo juice box) for a treat that doubles as a hand-warmer in the A/C.

Practical Info

Address Shop B131–133, B1, K11 MUSEA, 18 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui
MTR Tsim Sha Tsui Station, Exit E (K11 MUSEA connected); TST East Exit N5 closer to Harbour City
Hours Mon–Fri 11am–7pm; Sat–Sun & PH 10am–7pm; last entry 6pm
Ticket Advance from HK$199 (save up to 17%); walk-up from HK$240
Booking Timed entry via the LEGOLAND Hong Kong site
Important Rule Adults must be accompanied by a child to enter

From previous years: book the first session if you have a younger child. The 4D movie is louder than kids expect, and queues thin after 4pm.

6. Disgusting Food Museum — Kai Tak (For Braver Tweens)

Not strictly a Halloween event, but the Hong Kong run 29 Sep – 26 Nov 2026 overlaps exactly with spooky season. The Swedish touring exhibition that has shocked LA, Berlin, Bordeaux and Taipei is now parked at GATE33 Gallery inside AIRSIDE at Kai Tak. More than 80 polarising dishes from 35 countries across five zones — Field Feast, Curious Cures, Scraps & Scents, Choice & Custom and The Last Supper. Highlights: Swedish surströmming, Icelandic fermented shark, Sardinian maggot cheese (displayed, not served), Peruvian frog juice, Greenland kiviak, Iranian kale pache. Hong Kong perfumers built the scent stations so kids smell first and decide whether to taste. The optional Tasting Bar offers cricket snacks, Vegemite and sauerkraut juice. Every ticket comes with a vomit bag — part of the merch, not a hint.

Practical Info

Address GATE33 Gallery, 3/F, AIRSIDE, 2 Coordinated Road, Kai Tak, Kowloon
MTR Kai Tak Station, Exit C — walk indoors through the mall to Level 3
Hours Mon–Thu 12pm–8pm; Fri–Sun & PH 11am–9pm
Ticket Early bird (200 tickets): weekday adult HK$48 / child HK$28; weekend adult HK$68 / child HK$48. Standard: weekday HK$68/48, weekend HK$88/68. Parent+child combo HK$98 weekday / HK$138 weekend. Under 3s free with paying adult.
Booking Timed tickets via Klook, Maoyan and UUTIX
Best For Ages 8+ with a parent. Skip with toddlers and anyone with a strong gag reflex.

Plan 60–90 minutes, agree a family rule before you go (look only, sniff only, or one brave bite), and have a familiar snack queued for the walk back through AIRSIDE — the basement food hall is the reset button.

7. Move For Life — Halloween Baby Rave @ Soho House (Ages 3 Months to 4.5 Years)

If “Halloween” in your house currently means a costume photo on the sofa and bedtime at 7:30, the Move For Life Baby Rave Halloween Edition on Sun 1 Nov 2026, 1pm–4pm is built for you. A parents-and-tots dance party at Soho House, 33 Des Voeux Road West, Sheung Wan, with a live DJ mixing EDM with kids’ classics, bubbles, lights, balloon drop, and “Rave Bears.” The age range is 3 months to 4.5 years — the honest answer to “are we too old / too young for this?”

Practical Info

Address Soho House Hong Kong, 33 Des Voeux Road West, Sheung Wan
MTR Sai Ying Pun Station, Exit A2; or Hong Kong University Station, Exit C
Date / Time Sunday 1 Nov 2026, 1:00pm–4:00pm
Ticket From HK$100 per person via Move For Life
Age Range 3 months – 4.5 years (parent stays on the floor with baby)
Extras Family-friendly bar on site

The only event on the list where a babysitter is explicitly not required. Arrive 10 minutes before doors — the first 30 minutes are calmest for younger babies before bubbles and the balloon drop ramp up.

Booking Calendar: What to Lock In This Week

  1. This week (5–11 Oct): Book LEGOLAND timed entry and Disgusting Food Museum tickets — both have limited capacity, and early-bird Disgusting pricing covers only the first 200 tickets.
  2. By 15 Oct: Register for the Discovery Bay Cosplay Parade if you have a tween who wants to compete.
  3. By 20 Oct: Lock in HKDL park reservations and the 2-Day Fun Ticket at the HK$769 entry price.
  4. By 25 Oct: Buy Ocean Park tickets and the Triple Terror Combo for older kids’ night session.
  5. 24 Oct (Saturday): Show up to Halloween in Central — Monster Mash Fest. No booking.
  6. 31 Oct (Saturday): Halloween Night Unleashed in Central + DB Fun Day in Discovery Bay.
  7. 1 Nov (Sunday): Move For Life Baby Rave in Sheung Wan.

A Note on Toddlers vs Tweens

Most events are not built for the same child. Rough age-by-event guide:

  • Toddlers (1–3): Central installations only, LEGOLAND Discovery Centre daytime, DB photo trail, HKDL Mickey’s Happy Halloween Adventure.
  • Preschool / Early Primary (4–7): Add LEGOLAND Brick or Treat builds, the Central Monster Mash Fest Family Day (24 Oct), Ocean Park daytime Bulu Boo, Move For Life Baby Rave.
  • Tweens (8–12): Add Disgusting Food Museum, DB Cosplay Parade, Ocean Park Triple Terror Combo (12+ age rule on haunted houses).
  • Teens (13+): Add the OPEN by HE.R kick-off party, Halloween Night Unleashed on 31 Oct, AEON-discounted Triple Terror Combo.

Closing Thought for Parents

The 2026 Halloween slate in Hong Kong is the most thoughtfully designed I have seen: genuinely free outdoor installations for the whole city, real family days instead of just a kids’-corner cutout, and at least one indoor option (LEGOLAND) for any parent whose costume budget is more “rainy Saturday” than “spooky castle.” If I were picking three, it would be the Central Monster Mash Fest on 24 Oct, LEGOLAND’s Brick or Treat for the rainy-day backup, and either HKDL’s Party Like a Villain or Ocean Park’s daytime Bulu Boo depending on whether your kids love characters or animals more. The rest is bonus.
